Then, WEED

Has your home become a jungle?

Gardening is one of my favourite things to do…and least favourite.

When the wintry weather starts to show signs of spring, my brain starts thinking about the garden. I have visions of a picture-perfect vegetable garden floating through my head.

I start planning out what I’m going to plant and where in the garden it will go (to avoid that unfortunate pump-cchini situation). When spring hits, I’m ready to go. I buy what seeds and seedlings I need and get everything nicely planted.

Everything is looking good. Little sprouts start poking through the soil and vines start to flower.

Then the rain hits.

Great for the veggies – also - great for the weeds.

Soon my pretty garden looks more like a jungle and I’m stuck with hours of weeding. In order to find and see the plants I chose and love, I have to get rid of the weeds.

If you ask my neighbours, my weeding efforts don’t always work out so well. Sometimes, I get part of the way through and then throw in the towel. Other times, I don’t get around to weeding for weeks.

The thing is, the longer I put it off, the bigger the job.

Whenever anyone takes on an organizing project, there comes a time when we have to do a little weeding (or in some cases a lot!)

To create space to enjoy the things in life that we chose and love, we need to get rid of the things that no longer serve us, the things we no longer need, use or love. Just like weeds that hide the beauty of our gardens, excess clutter hides the beauty of our homes.

Everyday Organized stresses the importance of a PLAN – SORT – WEED – LIVE strategy to tackle home and small business organizing dilemmas.

Weed out the excess in your space so you can live EVERYDAY ORGANIZED.
