Before Christmas

Nov 15, 2023

Free up space, give back and enjoy the calm

It may seem like you already have a lot to do with Christmas just around the corner, but November is an excellent time to tackle some small organizing jobs that will help your home feel less chaotic and overwhelming during the holidays.

Here are some quick tips to organize three key areas: holiday decorations, toys and kitchen items.

  • Holiday Decorations – when you bring out the boxes of holiday décor, look for items that are old, broken or no longer used. If you don’t plan on taking it out of the box, it is likely time to pass it along! Donate items in good condition and enjoy all that extra storage space when it is time to pack things away.

  • Children’s Toys – right before Christmas is a great time to help your kids sort through their toy collections. With the anticipation of new items coming into the home, now is the perfect time to donate gently loved toys to those in need. It can be a great way to teach about giving back to the community.

  • Kitchen – take some time to look over your kitchen gadgets or appliances for items that are duplicates, broken or that you never use. Clear those items out! It will make your kitchen more efficient and easier to navigate as you prepare all those special treats this holiday season.

By donating items you no longer use, you can free up storage space, give back to those in need and make your home a more organized and welcoming place.

Start the new year with a fresh and tidy home by weeding out those unneeded items now.
